The Siemens SENTRON 5SV3344-6KK60 is a 4-pole residual current circuit breaker (RCCB), Type A, rated 40 A with 30 mA sensitivity and 6 mA DC detection, for 400 V AC systems. It is designed for electro-mobility applications — EV charging infrastructure — where DC fault currents from onboard chargers can blind standard AC-only RCDs. The 6 mA DC component (SIGRES function) ensures the device detects smooth DC residual currents up to 6 mA that would otherwise saturate a Type A core and prevent tripping on an AC fault.
30 mA sensitivity for personnel protection. Type A detects AC sinusoidal and pulsating DC residual currents. 6 mA DC detection (SIGRES) covers smooth DC faults for EVSE. This is the rated conditional short-circuit current per IEC 61008-1, verified with a 100 A gG series fuse upstream. For installations with higher prospective fault current, an upstream MCB or fuse with lower breaking capacity must coordinate. Short-time delayed design withstands transient leakage currents without nuisance tripping.
