RCCB for 400 V AC three-phase circuits
The Siemens 5SV3348-6 is a 4-pole residual current operated circuit breaker (RCCB), Type A, rated at 100 A with 30 mA sensitivity for 400 V AC systems. Type A detection means it responds to sinusoidal AC fault currents plus pulsating DC fault currents — the standard choice for circuits feeding single-phase rectified loads like switched-mode power supplies, variable-speed drives, and IT equipment. The 30 mA trip threshold provides personal protection against direct contact (additional protection per IEC 60364), while the 100 A frame handles main incoming or sub-main distribution in commercial and industrial panels.
Panel integration and coordination
The 4-pole format occupies four modular DIN-rail positions. At 100 A, incoming cable sizing and upstream protective device coordination matter — this RCCB does not provide overcurrent protection, so it must be paired with an MCB or fuse rated at or below 100 A. The 30 mA sensitivity is standard for socket-outlet circuits and general-purpose final circuits; for fixed equipment or circuits with higher natural leakage, consider a 100 mA or 300 mA variant in the same family.
