Type B+ means it catches smooth DC fault currents up to 6 mA plus the full AC/DC spectrum — essential on VFD-fed circuits, UPS outputs, or EV charging stations where standard AC types would miss a DC fault. Rated 80 A flat from 40 °C through 55 °C, then derates linearly: 72 A at 55 °C, 64 A at 60 °C, 56 A at 65 °C, 48 A at 70 °C. That thermal curve means you don't lose headroom in a warm panel until you're past 50 °C — typical for a ventilated enclosure. Depth is 70 mm — fits standard 100 mm deep enclosures without crowding the gland plate.
Selectivity and coordination
The short-time delayed design (S-type) gives you selectivity with downstream MCBs or RCCBs — the 5SV3647-4KK14 holds through transient inrush and lets the closer device clear a bolted fault first. Rated short-circuit current withstand is 10 kA per IEC 61008-1, with a let-through current permissible of 7,000 A and an I²t value of 60,000 A²·s.
Installation notes
Test circuit minimum supply voltage is 70 V AC. Operating frequency is 50/60 Hz, supply voltage range 70–440 V AC. Silicon-free construction (no silicone outgassing) — relevant for clean-room or paint-shop panels where contamination is a risk.
