RCCB for panel builders and MRO
The Siemens 5SV4311-0 is a 2-pole residual current operated circuit breaker (RCCB) from the SENTRON family, rated 16 A with 30 mA trip sensitivity on a 230 V AC supply. The 30 mA threshold is the common personal-protection level per IEC 61008-1, sized to clear a ground fault before it becomes a shock hazard. Depth is 70 mm, which matches the standard SENTRON MCB/RCCB depth — it'll sit flush in a panel alongside 5SL or 5SY series breakers without protruding past the busbar cover. Mounting position is unrestricted, and supply can land top or bottom, which saves a few minutes when you're retrofitting into a crowded enclosure.
In a 230 V residential or light commercial panel fed by a transformer of typical impedance, 10 kA covers most installations; if your available fault current exceeds that, you'll need an upstream current-limiting fuse or MCB rated higher. The permissible series fuse is capped at 63 A, so don't oversize the backup protection. IP20 with connected conductors — fine inside a distribution board where the enclosure provides the outer IP rating. Not for wet or washdown locations without a separate cabinet.
