What this RCCB is and where it fits
The Siemens 5SV4416-0KL is a 2-pole residual current circuit breaker (RCCB) from the SENTRON 5SV4 series, designed for AC fault currents. It carries a rated current of 63 A at ambient temperatures up to 60 °C without derating, and a 100 mA residual tripping threshold — a common choice for general-purpose shock protection in distribution boards where a higher trip level is acceptable to avoid nuisance tripping on leakage from filters or long cable runs. Rated 230/400 V AC, 10 kA SCCR. DIN rail mount, 2 width units (36 mm wide), 70 mm depth.
Thermal performance and conductor sizing
This RCCB holds its full 63 A rating from 40 °C through 60 °C ambient — no derating curve to track in most panel environments. At 65 °C it drops to 56.96 A, and at 70 °C to 48.19 A. For a panel running hot near the upper operating limit of -25 to +45 °C, the 63 A rating is fully available. Terminals accept 0.75 mm² to 35 mm² solid or stranded. I²t rating 110,000 A²s.
Mounting and installation notes
DIN rail (REG) mounting, any position allowed — no orientation restriction. Supply can enter from top or bottom, which simplifies busbar routing in a crowded enclosure. The N-left product variation means the neutral pole is on the left side when viewed from the front, matching the standard SENTRON busbar layout for 2-pole RCCBs. IP20 when installed in distribution board with conductors connected. Finger and back-of-hand safe.
