RCCB for 50 Hz distribution — 4-pole, 63 A, 500 mA trip
The Siemens SENTRON 5SV4746-0 is a 4-pole residual current circuit breaker (RCCB) rated 63 A at 50 Hz, with a 500 mA rated residual tripping current. It is a Type AC, instantaneous device — meaning it responds to sinusoidal AC fault currents only, with no intentional delay. The short-circuit current rating is 10 kA per IEC 61008-1 and EN 60898 (0.8 kA under those standards). This is the part to specify when the distribution board needs a 4-module-width (72 mm) RCCB for general-purpose AC circuits, not for pulsed DC or time-graded selectivity.
DIN-rail fit and panel integration
Snaps onto a standard DIN rail (REG) in any mounting position. The housing is 72 mm wide (4 modular units), 90 mm tall, and 70 mm deep — the depth matches the installation depth, so no extra clearance behind the rail is needed. Supply can enter from top or bottom. The IP20 rating applies once the distribution board is installed with conductors connected; this is normal for enclosed panel gear, not for open washdown areas.
Thermal derating — full rating up to 60 °C
The 63 A rating holds flat from 40 °C through 60 °C. At 65 °C it derates to 57.35 A; at 70 °C to 48.8 A. The operating ambient range is -25 °C to 45 °C, with storage from -40 °C to 75 °C. For a panel running warm, the headroom to 60 °C means no derating in most industrial enclosures. The permissible I²t is 110 000 A²·s, and the let-through current is rated at 7 100 A — figures that matter for coordination with upstream MCCBs.
