The Siemens 5SV5311-6KL is a 2-pole residual current operated circuit breaker (RCCB) from the SENTRON family, rated 16 A at 230 V AC, 50 Hz, with a 30 mA trip threshold and Type A residual current sensitivity.
The 30 mA trip current (Type A) catches pulsating DC fault currents as well as sinusoidal AC — common in circuits with rectifiers, variable-speed drives, or switching power supplies. The instantaneous design (no short-time delay) trips within milliseconds, which is standard for personnel protection but means it may nuisance-trip on high inrush loads like motor starting — check coordination if feeding inductive gear.
Mounts on DIN rail (REG) in any position. Depth is 70 mm, which matches the standard 70 mm installation depth of most SENTRON modular devices — no extra clearance needed behind the rail. Supply can enter from top or bottom. The N-left variant means the neutral busbar connects on the left side of the device; verify busbar orientation before wiring. IP20 rating applies only when installed in a distribution board with connected conductors — not for open-panel use.
