Arc-fault and overcurrent in one 18 mm slot
The Siemens 5SV6016-6KK10 is a SENTRON AFDD-MCB combination — an arc-fault detection device (AFDD) and miniature circuit breaker (MCB) rolled into a single 1 MW (18 mm wide) compact unit. It protects a 230 V AC, 50 Hz, 1P+N final circuit at 10 A with a B-curve trip characteristic, and interrupts fault currents up to 6 kA per both EN 60898-1 and IEC 60947-2. That 6 kA rating is the same under either standard, so you don't have to derate or double-check which code governs the installation.
The B-curve (trips at 3–5× In) means this unit is sized for resistive or light inductive loads — lighting, small heaters, control transformers — not motor starting or high-inrush gear. The 1P+N design switches the line conductor and switches the neutral, but does not protect the neutral — the neutral pole is a switching pole only.
Mounting and environment
Depth is 68.5 mm, installation depth 70 mm — that extra 1.5 mm accounts for the DIN rail clip clearance behind the panel door. IP20 with conductors connected means it's finger-safe once wired, but not protected against water ingress — keep it inside the enclosure.
