It protects a final circuit against arc faults (series and parallel arcs) and provides overcurrent and short-circuit protection in a single DIN-rail module.
Rated at 40 A, 230 V AC, this unit handles a standard single-phase final circuit up to that current. The breaking capacity of 6 kA per EN 60898-1 and IEC 60947-2 means it can safely interrupt a fault current of up to 6,000 A — adequate for most residential and light commercial installations where the prospective short-circuit current at the panel is under that threshold. The 1P+N design switches the line conductor and switches the neutral, offering disconnection of both poles in a single-width module. At 18 mm wide and 68.5 mm deep, it occupies one modular-width slot on the DIN rail, leaving room for adjacent devices.
The compact unit design allows installation of supplementary devices such as auxiliary switches or shunt trips if needed later.
