Arc-fault detection plus MCB in one module
The Siemens 5SV6016-6MC10 is a SENTRON AFDD-MCB combination unit — an arc-fault detection device (AFDD) and a miniature circuit breaker (MCB) integrated into a single compact housing. It occupies just 18 mm width (1 modular unit) on a DIN rail, with a depth of 68.5 mm and height of 90 mm. The 2-pole design uses a 1P+N configuration, switching the line and monitoring the neutral for arc faults. Integrated metering sets this apart: the unit includes an ammeter, voltmeter, wattmeter, frequency meter, and reactive power meter. Measurement accuracy is 0.5 % for current and voltage, 1 % for active power, compliant with IEC 61557-12, IEC 62053-22, and IEC 62053-23. The front-panel display cycles through voltage, current, active/reactive/apparent power, active energy, line frequency, power factor, temperature, switching cycles, operating hours, trip events, and warnings — giving a panel operator live circuit data without a separate meter.
If your installation has a higher fault level (e.g., near a transformer substation), you would need an MCB with a higher breaking capacity, typically 10 kA or 25 kA. The 18 mm width (1 modular unit) is the standard DIN-rail pitch for a single-pole MCB. This unit packs a 2-pole AFDD+MCB plus metering into that same 18 mm.
