AFDD-MCB with integrated metering
The Siemens 5SV6016-6MC13 is a SENTRON compact unit combining an arc-fault detection device (AFDD) with a miniature circuit breaker (MCB) and a full energy meter — ammeter, voltmeter, wattmeter, frequency meter, and reactive-power meter all built in. The MCB side trips with a B characteristic (3–5× In for magnetic release) and is rated at 6 kA breaking capacity per EN 60898-1 at 230 V. The arc-fault detection adds series arc recognition, so this single unit replaces what would otherwise be an AFDD + MCB + energy meter stack.
What the metering tells you
The display cycles through voltage, current, active power, apparent power, reactive power, active energy, line frequency, power factor, temperature, switching cycles, operating hours, and trip/warning counters. Measurement accuracy is 0.5 % for current and voltage, 1 % for active power, per IEC 61557-12, IEC 62053-22, and IEC 62053-23. That's utility-grade submetering precision — enough for tenant billing or energy allocation on a machine line. The unit also supports a wireless protocol for data export, so you can pull the metering values into a building management or SCADA system without a hardwired comms link.
