The Siemens SENTRON 5SV6016-7KK32 is a combined arc-fault detection device (AFDD) and miniature circuit breaker (MCB) in a single compact unit — 1 MW wide, 18 mm per DIN 43880. It carries a 32 A rated operational current at 230 V AC, 50 Hz, with a C tripping characteristic for moderate inrush loads like lighting banks or small motor circuits. Breaking capacity is 6 kA per both IEC 60947-2 and EN 60898-1, sufficient for most residential and light commercial final subcircuits.
Arc-fault detection integrated — what the ratings mean for fit
This is not a standalone MCB. The AFDD function monitors for series arcs (rated 2 A minimum to 32 A maximum) and parallel arcs (50 A minimum to 500 A maximum) — the ranges that cover loose terminals, crushed cables, and carbonised insulation in a 32 A final circuit. The 1P+N pole design switches the line and switches the neutral, so it fits single-phase subcircuits where neutral isolation is required. Pollution degree 2 and overvoltage category III suit fixed-installation distribution boards.
Mounting and panel integration
Snap-on DIN rail (REG) mounting per EN 60715, any orientation. The 18 mm width occupies one modular unit, and the 70 mm installation depth leaves clearance behind a standard 80 mm deep enclosure. IP20 with connected conductors — suitable for enclosed distribution boards, not for wet or dust-laden environments.
