What this SENTRON AFDD-MCB combination does
The built-in metering measures voltage, current, active/reactive/apparent power, line frequency, power factor, temperature, switching cycles, operating hours, and trip events, displayed on the front panel. Rear-side protection is IP20; the front face is IP40. The design is halogen-free and silicon-free, and it meets IEC 61373 for shock and vibration resistance — relevant for rail or mobile applications.
Metering accuracy and standards
The metering function is seamless (continuous) and complies with IEC 61557-12, IEC 62053-22, and IEC 62053-23 for error limits. Voltage and current accuracy is 0.5 %; active power accuracy is 1 %. The unit also includes a frequency meter, ammeter, voltmeter, wattmeter, and reactive power meter — all integrated into the 1-MW footprint, eliminating the need for a separate panel meter on that circuit.
