The Siemens SENTRON 5SV6316-7KK16 is a combined arc-fault detection device (AFDD) and residual-current circuit breaker (RCBO) in a single 1-module-wide (18 mm) compact unit. It integrates overcurrent protection (C characteristic, 16 A rated current), residual-current protection (Type A, 30 mA trip threshold), and arc-fault detection per IEC/EN 62606 into one DIN-rail device. That means one part handles three failure modes — overload, short-circuit, earth leakage, and series/parallel arcing — in a single panel slot.
Rated at 230 V AC, 16 A with a C trip curve, it's sized for general-purpose lighting and socket-outlet circuits where moderate inrush (motors, transformers) is expected. The 30 mA Type A residual-current element catches sinusoidal AC faults and pulsed DC fault currents up to 6 mA smooth DC — covers most modern electronics and variable-speed drive leakage without nuisance tripping. The arc-fault detection is rated for series arcs down to 2 A and parallel arcs from 50 A to 500 A, so it will clear a loose neutral screw or a frayed cable before the insulation catches fire.
Snap-on DIN rail (REG) mounting, 18 mm width (1 MW), 68.5 mm depth, 70 mm installation depth. Terminal protection is IP20 with conductors and protective device fitted — standard for enclosed distribution boards.
