The Siemens SENTRON 5SV8000-6KK is a residual current monitor (differential current monitoring device) in an analog Type A design. It continuously monitors for leakage currents between 0.03 A and 5 A, with an adjustable tripping delay from 0.02 s to 5 s. The unit is powered from the monitored line (184–276 VAC), so no separate control supply is needed — it draws a maximum of 3 VA.
Connections are via screw-type terminals accepting AWG 25 to AWG 14 conductors; strip length is 10 mm. The summation current transformer connects via a wire run up to 10 m, and the monitor is compatible with the 5SV8700 series of external CTs (models 5SV8700-0KK through 5SV8706-0KK).
The device includes an error memory, meaning it latches the alarm state after a fault — useful for post-event diagnosis on unattended panels. The functional designation per IEC 81346-2 and EN 61346-2 is letter K (relay / monitoring function).
