The 30 mA residual sensitivity (AC type) catches line-to-ground faults on sinusoidal AC waveforms — the standard for socket-outlet circuits and general-purpose final circuits where DC fault content isn't expected. Breaking capacity is rated 4.5 kA per EN 60898 and 5 kA per IEC 60947-2 — adequate for most domestic and light commercial sub-distribution boards where the prospective fault current at the point of installation stays under those thresholds. The 1P+N configuration switches the phase and switches the neutral, with the neutral pole opening simultaneously to ensure full isolation.
IP20 protection applies once the board is installed with conductors connected — not rated for wet or dusty environments without an outer enclosure. The neutral conductor is switched internally, so no external neutral bar connection is needed on the load side — the outgoing neutral passes through the device.
