The Siemens 5SV9313-7NK16 is a 2-pole RCD-operated circuit breaker (RCBO) from the SENTRON family, combining overcurrent protection and residual current protection in a single 18 mm wide module. The unit is designed for instantaneous operation — no intentional delay on the RCD side.
The breaking capacity is 4.5 kA per EN 60898 and 5 kA per IEC 60947-2. For a domestic or light commercial distribution board with a typical upstream fuse or MCB rated below 5 kA, this is adequate. The 30 mA trip threshold is standard for personnel protection (shock risk) in most residential and commercial circuits. Type A detection covers the common fault patterns in single-phase electronics loads — switch-mode power supplies, LED drivers, variable-speed drives — that generate pulsating DC leakage.
Derating and installation
Rated 16 A at 30 °C ambient, but derates to 15.2 A at 40 °C, 14.72 A at 45 °C, 14.24 A at 50 °C, and 13.76 A at 55 °C. In a crowded enclosure with elevated internal temperatures, size the load accordingly. It can be fed from either top or bottom, which simplifies panel wiring. Touch protection is built in.
