It protects a single final circuit against both overload/short-circuit (C-curve magnetic trip) and earth leakage (30 mA AC type). The 1P+N configuration switches the line conductor only; the neutral is switched through but not protected. The 18 mm width (1 modular unit) means it occupies a single DIN-rail slot — important for panel fill factor when packing multiple RCBOs into a consumer unit or sub-distribution board.
The 30 mA residual current trip protects against direct-contact earth faults in standard domestic and commercial installations. Temperature derating is significant: at 40 °C the continuous rating drops to 5.64 A, at 50 °C to 5.22 A. If the distribution board runs warm — common in summer or high-density enclosures — size the upstream circuit accordingly.
The 5SV9316-1NK06 is an instantaneous (non-time-delayed) RCBO. For selective coordination with downstream RCDs, a time-delayed type (S-curve) would be needed upstream — this unit trips without intentional delay.
