The Siemens SENTRON 5SV9316-7FM16 is a 2-pole RCBO — a residual-current-operated circuit breaker with overcurrent protection, combining a 16 A thermal-magnetic trip (Type C characteristic) and a 30 mA residual-current device (Type A) in a single 18 mm-wide module (1 MW).
The 16 A rated current (at 30 °C) and Type C characteristic (i1=1.0xIn, i2=1.2xIn) suit circuits with moderate inrush. The 30 mA Type A residual detects pulsating DC from switched-mode supplies. Temperature derating is specified: 16 A at 30 °C, 0.96 A at 40 °C, 0.94 A at 45 °C, 0.92 A at 50 °C, and 0.9 A at 55 °C. The derating curve is steep because the thermal trip element in a 1 MW-wide device has limited heat dissipation. For a panel with ambient above 40 °C, size the load current against the derated value, not the 30 °C nameplate rating.
Mounting position is any orientation. Supply cord entry can be from top or bottom. The SENTRON series is RoHS and REACH compliant as a Siemens standard product line; specific declaration files are available from Siemens Industry Online Support.
