Integrator note — what this RCBO is and what the ratings mean
The Siemens SENTRON 5SV9316-7PK06 is a 2-pole RCBO (RCD-operated circuit breaker) combining overcurrent protection and 30 mA residual-current detection in a single 18 mm wide module — one modular-width unit on the DIN rail. The C-curve tripping characteristic (6 A rated at 30 °C, derated to 5.64 A at 40 °C and 5.04 A at 55 °C) handles moderate inrush from motorized loads and lighting ballasts; the 30 mA Type A residual-current element catches pulsating DC faults common in modern electronics. Breaking capacity is 6 kA per both EN 60898 and IEC 60947-2 — enough for domestic and light commercial final circuits where the prospective fault current stays under that threshold. The 4 kV surge voltage resistance (overvoltage category III) means it can be installed downstream of the main distribution board without additional surge protection for the breaker itself.
Panel integration — DIN rail footprint and mounting
Width is 18 mm (one modular unit), depth 77 mm, height 90 mm. Installation depth 70 mm — the extra 7 mm is the front toggle and test button. Mounting position any; supply from below. IP20 with the distribution board installed and conductors connected — standard for enclosed panels, not for open wet areas. Touch protection is built in. Silicon-free construction matters for potting or conformal-coating environments where silicone outgassing can cause contact failure.
