Siemens SENTRON 5SY3006-7KL — 1P+N MCB, C-Curve 6 A, 4.5 kA
The Siemens SENTRON 5SY3006-7KL is a 1-pole+N miniature circuit breaker rated 6 A at 230 V AC with a C-trip curve and 4.5 kA breaking capacity per EN 60898. The C-curve (trips at 5–10× rated current) is the standard choice for general-purpose branch circuits feeding resistive and moderate-inductive loads like lighting, small motors, and control transformers — the 6 A rating protects a 230 V AC single-phase circuit drawing up to about 1.38 kVA. This is a 1P+N design: the neutral pole is switched simultaneously with the live pole, so both conductors are isolated when the breaker trips or is manually opened. That makes it suitable for final sub-circuits where a switched neutral is required by local wiring rules. The neutral pole is not overcurrent-protected — it follows the live pole's state.
One width unit (18 mm) — no side space lost. Terminal torque spec is 17.7 to 22.1 lbf·in (2.0–2.5 N·m). Mounting position is unrestricted; the breaker can be installed horizontally or inverted if the panel layout demands it. Halogen-free and silicon-free construction — no corrosive off-gassing if the breaker arcs internally. Sealable with a lead or tag, which helps meet lockout/tagout requirements on commercial or industrial panels.
For selectivity with an upstream 63 A or 100 A main breaker, verify that the let-through energy of the upstream device stays below the 5SY's withstand — typical for a residential or small commercial distribution board. Energy limiting class 3 means it restricts the peak current and arc energy on a short-circuit, reducing stress on downstream wiring and loads. Not intended for frequent switching as a load disconnect.
