The Siemens 5SY4111-7 is a SENTRON miniature circuit breaker (MCB) — one pole, C-curve trip characteristic, rated to clear a 10 kA fault under IEC 60898 and a 35 kA fault under IEC 60947-2. For a North American panel built to UL 1077, the same breaker carries a 5 kA interrupting rating — that is the supplementary-protection ceiling, not the branch-circuit rating. It means this MCB can serve as supplementary overcurrent protection inside a listed industrial control panel, but it is not a UL 489 branch-circuit breaker. The 18 mm width (one modular unit) and 76 mm depth fit standard DIN-rail enclosures; the quick-assembly fastening method and any mounting position simplify panel layout, and the IP20 rating with conductors connected is typical for enclosed distribution boards — no special sealing for washdown.
It is part of the SENTRON portfolio that Siemens continues to manufacture and sell through standard distribution.
The breaker is certified to IEC / EN 60898-1 and IEC / EN 60947-2, plus UL 1077 and CSA C22.2 No. 235.
