Panel integrator note
The 5SY4216-8: Two-pole D-curve MCB from the SENTRON 5SY4 line. Trips on a 10–20x rated current impulse for motor or transformer loads with high inrush. Breaking capacity sits at 10 kA per EN 60898-1 and 20 kA per IEC 60947-2; DC rating is 15 kA at 60 V (IEC 60947-2), and UL 1077 gives 5 kA. Installs on DIN rail in any orientation, 2 modular width units (36 mm wide).
Mounting and terminal details
Quick assembly system fastening, 70 mm installation depth into the panel. Combined top and bottom terminals accept the same conductor range — no special feed-side wiring. Neutral conductor is not switched; this is a 2-pole device for line and switched phase only. IP20 with all conductors connected, pollution degree 3, overvoltage category III.
Environmental and durability
Ambient temperature range from -40 °C to 75 °C. Humidity derated across the band: 95% at 55 °C, 55% at 70 °C, 35% at 75 °C. Vibration resistance per IEC 60068-2-6: ±1 mm at 5–25 Hz, 50 m/s² at 25–150 Hz. Halogen-free and silicon-free construction — no outgassing concerns in sealed enclosures.
