Siemens 5SY4232-8CC — SENTRON 2P D-Curve MCB at 32 A
For UL 1077 supplementary protection applications, the interrupting rating is 5 kA.
What the D-curve means for your load
A D-curve trips between 10× and 20× rated current (320–640 A instantaneous magnetic release for this 32 A unit). That deliberate delay is sized for loads with high starting surges — think small motors, solenoid banks, or DC power-supply input capacitors. On a pump or compressor start, the D-curve lets the inrush pass without nuisance tripping, whereas a B- or C-curve would clear too fast and drop the line. The trade-off: arc-fault protection is less sensitive, so verify the downstream wiring is rated for the let-through energy.
Panel fit and wiring constraints
The 76 mm depth fits flush with most standard distribution boards.
