The 10 kA breaking capacity at 400 V (per EN 60898) tells you it can safely interrupt a fault current up to that level without welding contacts or cascading upstream; under UL 1077 and CSA C22.2 No.235 it carries a 5 kA interrupting rating, so verify the available fault current at the panel if the install is in a North American jurisdiction.
The SENTRON series supports installable supplementary devices, so if the application later needs an auxiliary contact, shunt trip, or undervoltage release, the same 2-MW footprint accepts them without re-paneling.
Environmental and mechanical margins
Rated for ambient temperatures from -40 °C to +75 °C, with humidity derating above 55 °C (max 95% RH at 55 °C, 55% at 70 °C, 35% at 75 °C). Vibration resistance per IEC 60068-2-6: ±1 mm at 5–25 Hz, 50 m/s² at 25–150 Hz — enough for industrial machinery mounted on a machine frame or conveyor line. Power loss per pole at rated current in hot operating state is 3.8 W, so a 2-pole unit dissipates about 7.6 W total. In a densely packed enclosure, factor that into thermal calculations to avoid derating adjacent devices.
