The Siemens 5SY4260-7 is a SENTRON 2-pole miniature circuit breaker with a C-curve trip characteristic, rated 10 kA breaking capacity per EN 60898-1 and 15 kA per IEC 60947-2 at 400 V AC. It also carries a 15 kA DC rating at 60 V (72 V max) per IEC 60947-2, and 5 kA per UL 1077. The C-curve (5–10× In) is the standard choice for motor branch circuits, transformer primaries, and general industrial loads where moderate inrush is expected — it avoids nuisance tripping on start-up while still clearing faults fast.
Mounting and integration
Snaps onto DIN rail via the quick-assembly system, occupying 2 modular width units (36 mm). The 76 mm depth (70 mm installation depth) leaves clearance for standard 80 mm deep enclosures. Combined terminals top and bottom accept supply from any position — no need to orient the breaker for line/load. IP20 with connected conductors; suitable for panel environments, not washdown zones.
Environmental range
Rated for -40 °C to 75 °C ambient, with humidity derating: 95% RH up to 55 °C, 55% RH up to 70 °C, 35% RH up to 75 °C. Mount in any position. Sealable to prevent tamper — useful for metering or critical circuits.
