2 A C-Curve MCB — Panel Fit and Thermal Reality
The Siemens 5SY4302-7CC is a SENTRON miniature circuit breaker rated 2 A with a C-curve trip characteristic, meaning it handles moderate inrush from motor starters and small transformers without nuisance tripping — typical for general-purpose branch circuits in control panels. The 10 kA breaking capacity per EN 60898 covers most industrial panel fault levels; where UL 1077 applies, the interrupting rating is 5 kA. Three modular-width units (54 mm wide) snap onto the DIN rail with the quick-assembly system, and the 70 mm installation depth leaves clearance behind the gland plate. Thermal derating is baked into the spec: at 40 °C the breaker carries 1.91 A, at 50 °C it drops to 1.81 A, and at 55 °C it's 1.75 A. If your enclosure runs hot — say near a drive or transformer — size the load against the derated figure, not the 2 A nameplate.
Mounting and Environment
Mounts in any position — no derating for orientation. The IP20 rating (with connected conductors) and touch-protection design mean it's suited for enclosed panels in mechanical engineering and industrial environments. Pollution degree 3 and overvoltage category III cover most factory-floor conditions. Vibration resistance per IEC 60068-2-6: ±1 mm at 5–25 Hz, 50 m/s² at 25–150 Hz.
