What this MCB is and what it does
The Siemens 5SY4332-6CC is a SENTRON miniature circuit breaker with a B tripping characteristic, 3 poles, rated 400 V AC and breaking 10 kA per IEC 60898. The B-curve trips between 3 and 5 times rated current — standard for resistive and general-purpose loads in commercial or light industrial panels where inrush is low. At 400 V AC, the 10 kA breaking capacity means it can safely interrupt a fault current up to that level without upstream cascading, as long as the available fault current at the panel doesn't exceed this. It also carries a UL 1077 / CSA C22.2 No.235 rating of 5 kA, so it's accepted in North American supplementary protection applications. The 3-pole design switches all three phases together; there's no neutral pole switching.
Mounting and integration
Snaps onto DIN rail via the quick assembly system, occupying 3 modular width units (54 mm). Installation depth is 70 mm, overall depth 76 mm. Mounting position is any orientation. The enclosure is IP20 with conductors connected — standard for panel-internal use. Pollution degree 3 and overvoltage category III suit it for fixed installations where transient overvoltages are expected. Combined terminals top and bottom accept wiring without separate busbar adapters. Sealable for tamper-proof applications.
