What the 10 A rating and characteristic A mean for your panel
The 5SY4410-5: The tripping characteristic A means it trips instantaneously on short-circuit currents between 2 and 3 times the rated current — this is the most sensitive characteristic available, designed to protect semiconductor circuits, measurement transformers, and other loads that cannot tolerate even brief overcurrents. For a 10 A breaker, that means the magnetic trip fires between 20 A and 30 A.
Physical fit and wiring constraints
Installation depth is 70 mm — the extra 6 mm accounts for the terminal screws protruding past the housing. Both top and bottom terminals are combined (phase and neutral can share the same clamp), and the terminals are sealable to prevent tamper after commissioning. Touch protection is built in per IP20 with connected conductors.
