The Siemens 5SY4501-7CV is a 2-pole miniature circuit breaker with a C tripping characteristic, rated 1 A at 35 °C per IEC 60947-2. The C-curve (5–10× In) means it handles moderate inrush without nuisance tripping — typical for motor-starter, lighting, and small-transformer circuits where the start-up surge sits below 10 A. Thermal derating is built in: the breaker carries its full 1 A only up to 35 °C. At 40 °C it derates to 0.93 A, at 45 °C to 0.89 A, at 50 °C to 0.8 A, and at 55 °C to 0.8 A. The 2-pole form factor (36 mm wide, 2 modular-width units) switches both phase and neutral — the neutral conductor switching feature is integrated, so no separate neutral block is needed downstream.
Environmental and compliance specs
Rated for ambient temperatures from -40 °C to 75 °C, with humidity limits of 95% RH up to 55 °C, then derating to 35% RH at 75 °C. Vibration resistance per IEC 60068-2-6: ±1 mm at 5–25 Hz, 50 m/s² at 25–150 Hz — suitable for installation on machine-mounted sub-panels subject to moderate vibration. Sealable terminals and touch protection are standard. These make it a clean fit for food-and-bev, pharmaceutical, or semiconductor-adjacent panels where outgassing or contamination is a concern.
