What the ratings mean for your panel
The Siemens 5SY4605-7CC11 is a SENTRON miniature circuit breaker — 4-pole (3P+N), C-curve, rated 0.5 A at 400 V AC. The C-curve means it trips between 5 and 10 times rated current, so it handles moderate inrush from small motor starters or transformer banks without nuisance tripping, but clears a hard short fast. The 10 kA breaking capacity per EN 60898 tells you it can safely interrupt a fault current up to 10 kA at the rated voltage — standard for sub-distribution boards in industrial and railway installations. At 0.5 A, this is sized for control transformers, signal circuits, or auxiliary loads, not main feeders. Rated for AC only, with a maximum DC voltage of 72 V. Overvoltage category III and pollution degree handled by the IP20 enclosure (with conductors connected). The wide ambient range, -40 °C to +75 °C, takes the radiant heat near mill drives or furnace zones — a rolling-mill environment where ordinary commercial-temp breakers drift their trip curve. Mounting position is any, and the quick-assembly system snaps onto standard DIN rail.
