What this MCB delivers for the panel
The Siemens 5SY4608-7CV is a 3-pole-plus-neutral miniature circuit breaker rated at 8 A with a C-trip curve, sized for commercial and industrial distribution boards where the fault current at the point of installation reaches up to 15 kA at 400 V AC.
Snap-on DIN rail mounting per EN 60715. The 3P+N format occupies four modular widths (72 mm at 18 mm per pole). Terminals accept 1–25 mm² copper conductors. For the C8 rating at 400 V, the thermal-magnetic trip mechanism is sealed — no field adjustment. When populating a distribution board, check the ambient temperature inside the enclosure: the rated 8 A assumes 30 °C; derate by 0.5% per °C above that. The 15 kA Icu at 400 V holds across the full temperature range, so the SCCR of the panel is not compromised by derating.
