Siemens SENTRON 5SY6006-6KL — B-curve MCB, 1P+N, 6 A, 6 kA
Rated 6 A with B tripping characteristic, breaking 6 kA at 230 V AC. The 1P+N configuration switches both phase and neutral. IP20 rating with connected conductors.
B-curve selectivity and coordination
The B characteristic (3–5× In) is the most selective for resistive and light inductive loads. Compared to a C-curve breaker (5–10× In) in the same 6 A rating, the B curve will trip sooner on moderate overloads, which is desirable for protecting long cable runs or sensitive loads but means less tolerance for motor or transformer inrush. For a panel already specified around a C-curve device like the 5SY6008-7, swapping to this B-curve 5SY6006-6KL requires checking the downstream load's starting current — the B curve may nuisance-trip on a load that the C curve handled.
Tightening torque is 2.0 to 2.5 N·m (17.7 to 22.1 lbf·in). The terminals are touch-protected per the product feature. Both top and bottom terminals are non-combined (independent clamping per conductor). Strip length for stranded conductors follows standard practice — 12 to 14 mm is typical for this terminal class.
