The Siemens SENTRON 5SY6008-7 is a 1P+N miniature circuit breaker rated at 8 A with a C tripping characteristic and 6 kA breaking capacity per EN 60898 at 230 V AC. It snaps onto standard DIN rail (35 mm), occupies one width unit (18 mm), and accepts solid or stranded conductors from 0.75 to 16 mm² at the screw terminals. The neutral pole switches with the line — no separate neutral bar needed for this single-phase application.
At 8 A and 6 kA SCCR, this breaker safely interrupts a bolted fault up to 6,000 A at 230 V without welding its contacts or cascading upstream. The 1P+N configuration means the neutral is switched and protected, which is required for single-phase final subcircuits in many IEC markets. Terminal torque spec of 2.0–2.5 N·m (17.7–22.1 lbf·in) is tight enough for 16 mm² tails but won't strip the screw if you stay in range.
Ambient range -25 to +45 °C covers most indoor panel conditions; storage range -40 to +75 °C is wider for warehouse cycling. Sealable option (padlockable toggle) lets you lock out a circuit for LOTO procedures.
