The Siemens 5SY6010-6 is a SENTRON miniature circuit breaker with B-curve tripping, rated 10 A at 30 °C and 230/250 V AC single-phase. The 1+N-pole configuration switches both line and neutral, with the neutral pole opening simultaneously. That matters for any circuit where you want full isolation on a single-width module — saves a slot in a crowded consumer unit or sub-distribution board.
B-curve means the magnetic trip fires at 3 to 5 times rated current (30–50 A for this 10 A unit). That is the right characteristic for resistive and general-purpose loads with modest inrush — lighting, heaters, control transformers. Do not use it on motor or drive feeds where the start-up surge would nuisance-trip; that is C or D curve territory. If your panel's prospective short-circuit current exceeds 6 kA, you need a higher-rated MCB or a current-limiting upstream fuse — this unit will not clear a 10 kA fault safely. Rated current derates with ambient temperature: 10 A at 30 °C, 9.5 A at 40 °C, 9.3 A at 45 °C.
Mechanical fit and panel integration
At 18 mm wide (1 modular width), it occupies a single slot. This is normal for indoor panel mounting; do not install in washdown or outdoor locations without an IP-rated enclosure. Touch protection is built in on the line-side terminals.
