Siemens SENTRON 5SY6010-6KL — B-curve MCB, 10 A, 1P+N
The Siemens 5SY6010-6KL is a miniature circuit breaker from the SENTRON series, rated 10 A with a B-curve tripping characteristic, 1P+N poles, and a 6 kA breaking capacity at 230 V AC. For motor or transformer feeders with higher inrush, a C- or D-curve would be required; this part is not sized for that duty.
The 6 kA breaking capacity at 230 V AC (per EN 60898) means this breaker can safely interrupt a fault current up to 6,000 A without welding its contacts or cascading failure upstream. In a typical domestic or light commercial distribution board with a 6 kA service entrance, this provides full selectivity at the final subcircuit level. The 1P+N configuration switches the phase and switches the neutral — the neutral is not protected but is disconnected when the breaker trips. This is standard for single-phase final circuits where the neutral is bonded at the source and does not require overcurrent protection. Rated voltage is 230 V AC single-phase, with a maximum of 250 V for single-phase operation. Terminals accept solid or stranded conductors from 0.75 to 16 mm², with a tightening torque of 2–2.5 N·m (17.7–22.1 lbf·in).
Dimensions: 18 mm wide (1 width unit), 90 mm high, 76 mm deep, with an installation depth of 70 mm. Touch protection is built in — no live parts accessible from the front face when installed.
