What this MCB does and where it fits
The C curve means it handles moderate inrush — typical for motor starters, lighting banks, and transformer primaries — without nuisance tripping on startup. It switches the neutral conductor (1P+N design) so you get overcurrent protection on the phase and a switched neutral, which simplifies panel wiring in single-phase distribution boards. Rated insulation voltage is 250 V AC, and the maximum operating voltage in single-phase operation is also 250 V AC. At 40 °C ambient the continuous rating derates to 24 A; at 45 °C it's 23.5 A. The 6 kA breaking capacity covers most residential and light commercial fault levels; for higher SCCR demands you'd step up to the 5SY6 series with 10 kA or the 5SY4 with 25 kA.
Width is 18 mm, which is one modular unit (1 MW) on a standard DIN rail. That's a compact footprint — fits a 1-pole slot in any SENTRON distribution board or generic DIN enclosure. IP20 with connected conductors — no washdown rating, so keep it inside the panel.
The breaker carries approvals per IEC/EN 60898 (the 6 kA rating), and the design follows IEC 60947-2 for industrial applications. Overvoltage category III, pollution degree 2 — standard for fixed-installation distribution boards.
