The D curve holds through 10–20× rated current long enough for the load to settle, then clears fast on a hard short.
Breaking capacity — the number that decides panel coordination
This breaker carries three breaking-capacity ratings because it's certified under multiple standards. Per EN 60898 it's 6 kA — the residential/commercial standard. Per IEC 60947-2 it's 30 kA — the industrial standard that governs panel SCCR. There's also a DC rating of 15 kA at 72 V per IEC 60947-2, and 5 kA per UL 1077 / CSA C22.2 No. 235.
Sealable, halogen-free, silicon-free — matters for clean-room or food-grade panels where outgassing is a concern.
Environmental range and approvals
That -40 °C floor makes it viable for outdoor enclosures in cold climates — no heater needed just to keep the breaker from failing to trip.
