Breaking capacity — what the two ratings mean
The 6 kA rating under EN 60898-1 is the standard for household and similar installations — it's what you'd see on a domestic consumer unit spec. That dual rating lets you use the same 5SY6111-7 across a light commercial board and a heavy industrial panel without swapping parts.
At 18 mm wide (1 MW), it occupies one slot on a standard DIN rail. Mounting position is any orientation, so you can lay it sideways in a shallow enclosure if needed.
Environmental and construction notes
Rated for -40 °C to 75 °C ambient, with humidity derating above 55 °C (95% RH at 55 °C, dropping to 35% at 75 °C). Halogen-free and silicon-free construction — relevant if you're putting this in a clean room or a sealed enclosure where outgassing matters. Sealable terminals let you lock the cover after commissioning to prevent tampering.
