What it is and what it does
The Siemens 5SY6263-7 is a 2-pole miniature circuit breaker from the SENTRON family, with a C trip characteristic. Out here in the grease, that C curve means it handles moderate inrush — motor loads or transformer banks — without nuisance tripping, but clears fast on a dead short. Interrupting ratings: 6 kA, 10 kA, and 5 kA AC; 15 kA DC at 60-72 V. Rated operating voltage 400 V AC (440 V with multi-phase or single-phase), 60 V DC. The 2-pole design switches both lines but leaves the neutral unswitched — check your panel wiring if you need four-pole isolation.
Built for the route
This breaker is sealable, halogen-free, and silicon-free. The IP20 rating with conductors connected means it keeps dust out of the terminals in a typical enclosure. Pollution degree 3 — it'll handle the conductive grime you find near bearings, conveyors, or washdown stations. Mounting: quick assembly system on DIN rail, any position, 2 modular width units (36 mm wide). Depth is 76 mm, installation depth 70 mm. That's standard — drops into any SENTRON panel without rework. Ambient range -40 to 75 °C, with humidity derating above 55 °C.
