The Siemens 5SY6314-8CC is a SENTRON miniature circuit breaker (MCB) in the 5SY6CC design, rated at 0.3 A on a D tripping curve. That D-curve means it tolerates inrush currents up to 10–20× rated current before tripping magnetically — sized for motor or transformer branch circuits where the start-up surge would nuisance-trip a B or C curve. Three poles, 400 V AC line-to-line, 50/60 Hz. Breaking capacity is 6 kA per EN 60898 and 5 kA per UL 1077 / CSA C22.2 No. 235. That covers most industrial panel sub-feed applications where the upstream device limits fault current below those thresholds. Overvoltage category III, so it's rated for fixed-installation distribution — not just final circuits.
Panel fit and wiring
Snaps onto DIN rail via the quick assembly system; mounting position any, installation depth 70 mm, overall depth 76 mm. Occupies 3 width units (54 mm). Terminals accept solid or stranded conductors from 0.75 mm² up to 35 mm² — generous for a 0.3 A breaker, useful when you need to loop through larger supply conductors. Tightening torque 2.5 to 3.5 N·m. Combined terminals top and bottom; sealable for tamper-proofing. IP20 with connected conductors, so it's intended for enclosed panel use — not washdown or outdoor. Halogen-free and silicon-free construction, relevant for environments sensitive to outgassing (clean rooms, food processing zones).
