Product details

The Siemens 5SY6316-8CC is a SENTRON miniature circuit breaker (MCB) with a D tripping characteristic, rated 16 A at 440 V AC and a 6 kA breaking capacity per EN 60898. At 40 °C ambient the continuous current derates to 15.04 A; at 50 °C it drops to 14.02 A, so if the panel runs hot check the derating table before loading to the full 16 A.

Panel integration — dimensions and mounting

Width 54 mm (3 MW), depth 76 mm, height 90 mm. Installation depth 70 mm. Quick-assembly fastening system — clips onto the DIN rail without tools. Sealable and halogen-free, silicon-free construction.

Frequently asked questions

What is the D tripping characteristic used for?

The D curve is designed for circuits with high inrush currents — motor starters, transformers, welding equipment — where a B or C curve would nuisance-trip on startup. It still clears a short-circuit within the 6 kA rating.
