It's designed for final branch-circuit protection in industrial control panels, distribution boards, and machinery — the kind of panel you find on a conveyor line or a packaging cell. The C-curve means it holds through motor inrush up to about 5–10x rated current, then trips fast on a hard short.
Sizing and thermal derating — the number that matters
The 2 A rating is at 35 °C ambient. Above that, the breaker derates: 1.91 A at 40 °C, 1.86 A at 45 °C, 1.81 A at 50 °C, and 1.75 A at 55 °C. If your panel runs warm — and most do — size the load to the derated figure, not the label.
Construction details for the panel builder
Halogen-free and silicon-free construction — important if the panel goes into a clean room or a food-processing area where outgassing matters. Touch protection is built in. The combined terminal design (top and bottom) accepts standard conductors. Vibration resistance per IEC 60068-2-6: ±1 mm at 5–25 Hz, 50 m/s² at 25–150 Hz — it'll hold up on a machine that shakes. Ambient humidity tolerance: max 95% up to 55 °C, derating to 35% at 75 °C.
