SENTRON 5SY6413-6 — 4-pole B-curve MCB for panel and machine builds
The Siemens 5SY6413-6 is a 4-pole miniature circuit breaker from the SENTRON family, designed for overcurrent and short-circuit protection in distribution boards and industrial control panels. Its B-curve tripping characteristic (3–5× In instantaneous) suits resistive and general-purpose loads where inrush is moderate — lighting circuits, control transformers, and PLC power feeds. Rated breaking capacity is 6 kA per EN 60898-1 and 15 kA per IEC 60947-2 at 400 V AC, with a matching 15 kA DC rating per IEC 60947-2 at 72 V DC. The dual standard means it qualifies for both residential-distribution (EN 60898) and industrial-installation (IEC 60947-2) duty, including UL 1077 recognition for supplementary protection in North American panels. The 4-pole design switches all three phases plus neutral (neutral conductor not switched internally — confirms no neutral switching, so the neutral pole is a solid link). Four modular width units (72 mm) snap onto DIN rail via the quick-assembly system; mounting position is any orientation, which simplifies tight enclosures.
Panel integration — dimensions and environmental limits
The breaker occupies 4 MW (72 mm) on DIN rail, with a depth of 76 mm and an installation depth of 70 mm behind the panel face. Height is 90 mm. Ambient temperature range is -40 °C to 75 °C, with derating above 55 °C per the humidity table (95% RH at 55 °C, 55% at 70 °C, 35% at 75 °C). IP20 with connected conductors — suitable for enclosed distribution boards, not for washdown zones. Pollution degree 3 (conductive pollution or dry non-conductive that becomes conductive due to condensation) means it is rated for industrial environments where the panel is not climate-controlled.
Compliance documentation
Certified to IEC / EN 60898-1, IEC / EN 60947-2, and UL 1077. Halogen-free and silicon-free. Sealable (provision for a lock or tag-out device). Energy limitation class 3.
