C-curve trip and breaking capacity
The Siemens 5SY6510-7 is a SENTRON miniature circuit breaker with a C-curve trip characteristic, meaning it trips at 5 to 10 times rated current — the standard choice for protecting inductive loads like motor starters, contactor coils, and small transformers where inrush is moderate. It is a 2-pole design (1P+N) with neutral conductor switching, so it disconnects both line and neutral on a fault. Breaking capacity is dual-rated: 6 kA per EN 60898-1 for residential/commercial panels, and 15 kA per IEC 60947-2 for industrial distribution — the higher figure is what matters when this breaker sits downstream of a transformer or in a high-fault industrial MCC. At DC it also carries 15 kA per IEC 60947-2, with a maximum DC voltage of 72 V.
Occupies 2 modular width units (36 mm wide) on a standard DIN rail, with a depth of 76 mm and an installation depth of 70 mm. The quick-assembly system and any-position mounting let a panel builder snap it in without reorienting the rail.
Halogen-free and silicon-free construction, rated for ambient temperatures from -40 °C to 75 °C with humidity derating above 55 °C. Vibration resistance per IEC 60068-2-6 covers ±1 mm at 5 to 25 Hz and 50 m/s² at 25 to 150 Hz.
