The Siemens SENTRON 5SY6516-7 is a 2-pole (1P+N) miniature circuit breaker with a C tripping characteristic, rated 6 kA per EN 60898-1 and 15 kA per IEC 60947-2.
This breaker is certified to IEC / EN 60898-1 (the household standard) and IEC / EN 60947-2 (the industrial standard), plus UL 1077 and CSA C22.2 No. 235 for North American supplementary protection. The dual rating is the key: at 230 V AC single-phase it breaks 6 kA per EN 60898, but the same unit interrupts 15 kA at 250 V AC per IEC 60947-2 — and 15 kA at 60 V DC per the same standard. Under UL 1077 the interrupting rating is 5 kA.
Operating conditions and mounting
Mounting position is any, with a quick-assembly system for DIN-rail snap-on. The ambient temperature range is -40 °C to 75 °C, with humidity derating: max 95% RH up to 55 °C, dropping to 35% RH at 75 °C. Vibration resistance per IEC 60068-2-6 is ±1 mm at 5–25 Hz and 50 m/s² at 25–150 Hz. The terminal design allows combined (top and bottom) feed, and the supply cord position is any, giving flexibility in panel wiring.
