Siemens 5SY6532-8CC — 32 A D-curve MCB in the SENTRON 5SY6CC family
It's built for high-inrush loads — motors, transformers, welding equipment — where the D curve's 10–20× In magnetic trip delay keeps nuisance trips off the floor. The 1P+N configuration switches the neutral, so it covers both poles in a single-width 36 mm footprint.
The D curve means this breaker holds through the startup surge of a 32 A motor drawing 6–8× its running current for a few hundred milliseconds — a C curve would nuisance trip on that same inrush. The 72 V DC maximum rating is useful for control-power protection in DC bus applications, though it's not the primary role.
At 36 mm wide (2 width units), it takes up standard MCB real estate in a distribution board. Wire range covers 0.75 to 35 mm² solid or stranded, so it'll take a 10 mm² feed for a 32 A submain or a 4 mm² tail for a motor circuit.
Sealable for lockout/tagout compliance. Overvoltage category III per IEC 60664, meaning it's rated for fixed-installation mains supply.
