What this 50A D-curve MCB is for
It's a 2-pole breaker in a 1P+N configuration (switches both line and neutral, but only the line pole is protected), housed in a 36 mm wide (2 width units) DIN-rail package that fits standard SENTRON distribution boards and industrial panel layouts. Interrupting capacity is rated at 6 kA per EN 60898 and 10 kA per IEC 60947-2, with a UL/CSA 1077/235 rating of 5 kA at AC. For DC circuits, it's rated 15 kA at up to 72 V DC. That covers most industrial control panels and sub-distribution boards where a 50 A feed protects motor circuits or high-starting-load branches.
The 36 mm width (2 width units) is the same footprint as other SENTRON 5SY6 breakers, so swapping from a lower-rated unit doesn't need re-spacing. Combined top and bottom terminals mean you can feed from either direction; power supply cord position is any orientation. IP20 with conductors connected (finger-safe once wired), and touch protection is built in.
