SENTRON 5SY6605-7 — 4-pole C-curve MCB at 0.5 A
The Siemens SENTRON 5SY6605-7 is a 4-pole miniature circuit breaker (3P+N) with a C tripping characteristic, rated at 0.5 A and 400 V AC. At 0.5 A, that magnetic threshold sits around 2.5 to 5 A, so it clears fast on a hard short but rides through the brief start-up surge of a small motor or solenoid.
Breaking capacity — which standard governs your panel
This breaker carries four breaking-capacity ratings, and the right one depends on the standard your panel is built to. Per EN 60898 it is rated 6 kA — the common domestic and light-commercial benchmark. For DC circuits, it is rated 15 kA at 72 V DC per IEC 60947-2. And for UL 1077 / CSA C22.2 No. 235 it is rated 5 kA at AC — the North American supplementary-protector standard. The 30 kA IEC figure gives real headroom in an industrial distribution board with a large upstream transformer.
Panel integration — DIN rail, 4 width units, any position
Touch protection is built in. The breaker is sealable — useful for installations where tamper-proofing the setting is required.
Environmental range and material compliance
Rated for ambient temperatures from -40 °C to +75 °C, with humidity derating: max 95% RH up to 55 °C, tapering to 35% RH at 75 °C. Overvoltage category III suits fixed-installation distribution boards.
