Siemens 5SY6606-8 — SENTRON 4-pole D-curve MCB, 6 A
The Siemens 5SY6606-8 is a SENTRON miniature circuit breaker in the 5SY6 design series, configured as a 4-pole unit (3P+N) with a D tripping characteristic and a 6 A rated current at 400 V AC. This is the variant you reach for when starting up motor or transformer loads that draw a brief inrush well above the running current — the D-curve holds past 10× to 20× In, so it won't nuisance-trip on the magnetizing surge of a small conveyor motor or a control transformer bank. That spread matters: if the panel is specified to the product standard for household-type MCBs, the 6 kA figure governs; if the installation is designed to the industrial standard for circuit-breakers, the 30 kA rating applies. Either way, the part carries the higher IEC 60947-2 rating for fault-current duty in an industrial control panel. At 72 mm wide (4 width units), it occupies a standard 4-module slot on a DIN rail.
Mounts via the quick-assembly system — snap onto DIN rail, no tools needed for the rail clip. Terminal screws are combined top and bottom (tunnel-type), sealable for panel-lockout procedures. IP20 protection with connected conductors — standard for a DIN-rail MCB inside an enclosed panel. The touch-protection feature is built into the terminals, so accidental contact with live parts is prevented when the breaker is wired.
